Celebrating Earth Day and Netceed’s Commitments to ESG

As our global community unites to celebrate Earth Day and recommits to protecting its resources, we at Netceed recognize that Earth Day is not just an annual day on the calendar - it's a reminder of our responsibility to prioritize Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations, which are woven into every aspect of our business and operations. We recognize that by prioritizing sustainability and responsible business practices, we're not only protecting the planet in reducing the impacts of climate change but also positioning our company for long-term business resilience in a rapidly changing world.

CEO of Netceed, Alper Turken, comments “Earth Day is a powerful symbol, and we have responsibility as an institution to contribute to a more sustainable planet for our communities, countries, and families for generations to come. We help our customers and partners fulfill their responsibility, as well as our own, while considering the realities of our business. Whether a customer is looking into their carbon footprint outlook in sustainable supply chain solutions or network product selection, we’re positioned to provide multiple supply chain options to weigh their decisions.” As champions of sustainability within the telecom, digital infrastructure, and energy industries, Netceed’s operations consider ESG not just as a moral imperative but also a strategic business imperative. Turken adds “We play a critical role in this value chain. As a key partner for customers and manufacturers, we are offering sustainable solutions for our clients including refurbishment and repair service, optimizing logistics, and eliminating plastic packaging when possible.”

This Earth Day 2024, Netceed is proud to reaffirm its commitment to sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship. This January, Juliette Gaussem joined the global organization as Group Sustainability Lead where she plays a key role in guiding our initiatives and ensuring that we make environmentally conscious decisions across all aspects of our operations while creating a positive impact on our planet and communities. With a global footprint of almost 2,000 employees across 19 countries, Juliette is leading our ESG roadmap for years to come, recently launching Netceed’s new ESG policy and our programs to accelerate these sustainability efforts. Juliette adds “With this year’s Earth Day theme of Planet vs. Plastics, we’re proud to have already many initiatives in place, such as significantly reducing plastic packaging, systematically segregating and recycling waste throughout our operations, or working on eco-design rules to minimize the use of new raw materials in our design process. For instance, in our Innovation Netceed (iNetceed) R&D lab in Aveiro, Portugal, we’re already using recycled plastic in some of our products.”

Here are some of the additional key ways Netceed is taking action to create a positive impact on our planet and communities:

Sustainable Offerings: We are committed to increasing our sustainable product and services offerings by working with our suppliers and innovating to find better solutions. We encourage the use of refurbished and recyclable materials in our products and packaging and offer extensive refurbishment services. We will continue to find innovative solutions that minimize waste generation and maximize recycling efforts to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. We will continue to engage with our suppliers to increase sustainability practices and reduce negative impacts across our industry.

Environmental Stewardship: We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint by implementing sustainable practices across our operations. This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving resources, and minimizing waste generation. Through initiatives such as energy efficiency upgrades, waste reduction programs, and sustainable sourcing practices, we aim to contribute to reducing our impact on climate change.

We calculate, monitor and report our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, as well as our energy consumption. Going forward, we will set carbon emission reduction targets and develop a decarbonization strategy to reduce our energy usage and carbon emissions to align with the 2015 Paris Agreement objective. We are actively working with our suppliers on this topic as it is an absolute priority.

Social Responsibility: We recognize the importance of fostering a diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace where all employees feel valued and respected. Our ESG policy prioritizes initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our workforce. Additionally, we are dedicated to supporting the communities in which we operate through volunteer programs, and partnerships with local organizations.

Health and safety are a top priority at Netceed. We promote the health and safety of our employees, clients, contractors, and visitors through various trainings, preventive measures, and regular inspections of safety risks. We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and do not tolerate unequal treatment or disadvantage in any areas of our business, and across the totality of our operations.

Governance Integrity: Transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct are at the core of everything we do. Upholding the highest standards of corporate governance is fundamental to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct. Our ESG policy includes measures to ensure integrity in decision-making processes, promote fair and ethical business practices, and uphold the rights of our stakeholders. We believe that strong governance is essential for building trust and maintaining long-term relationships with investors, customers, and other stakeholders.
Reinforcing our corporate ethics culture.

Netceed’s commitment to ESG isn’t just on Earth Day, it’s an ongoing journey and a commitment we make every day to create a better, more sustainable future for generations to come. Turken adds “As an industry leader, our commitment doesn’t end with the launch of our new ESG policy, it only starts with this, we will continue to progress down this path. We remain steadfast in our dedication to sustainability, and our new ESG policy reaffirms our commitment to paving the way for a better future. We invite our employees, customers, partners, and stakeholders to join us in this important endeavor.”

Stay tuned for updates on our progress as we strive to uphold our ESG principles and drive meaningful change within our organization and beyond. Together, we can make a difference across our industry and planet.

Happy Earth Day from Netceed!
